Upcoming karting talent! article- Leah Halsey

Finley Adams is a 15-year-old racer from Kent, who has just finished 2nd in the Lydd Kart Championship. With the aspirations of being either an endurance racer or a motorsport engineer, Finley is an exciting new talent on the go-karting scene with big aspirations.

Currently sponsored by Condico Plumbing, Safe Hands Mobility Centres, dream yayy charter, Montgomerie’s Garage and Tivoli Manufacturing, Finley describes his 2024 season as learning, experimenting and succeeding, with his first podium being one of the proudest moments in his career so far.

His love for motorsport started at a young age and was embedded into family life. Finley’s grandfather owned a classic car restoration garage and his Dad taught him how to work on cars and introduced Finley to the world of Formula One. He draws inspiration from the great Niki Lauda due to his focus on learning from mistakes instead of focusing on winning.

Finley Adams first became involved in karting after building his first kart from the cheapest parts he could find, which served him well as it taught Finley all of the fundamental skills about how to build and understand go karts, as well as the race craft knowledge he already had.

With his family behind him, who have dedicated themselves to karting by taking him to races and supporting from the pits and in the garage as well as financially, his first podium showed him and his dad that he has what it takes to succeed in the competitive world of racing - and that sums up Finley Adams perfectly.

Looking forward to 2025, Finley is planning on touring UK tracks in multiple championships, such as the NKC, UKC and Club Races, as well as testing at different European tracks. It promises to be an exciting year for Finley as he continues to develop in karting and fights for titles in his second season racing.
